Pakistan beat Bangladesh by an innings and eight runs in the Dhaka Test to sweep the two-match series.

On the fifth day of the rain-affected Dhaka Test, Pakistan bowlers dominated and Bangladesh were bowled out for 87 in the first innings.

Bangladesh's second innings did not start well and they lost five wickets for 98 runs. However, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim supported the innings.

Shakib Al Hasan 63 while Mushfiqur Rahim was run out for 43 after which no Bangladeshi player could play.

Pakistan declared their innings at 300 for four in their first innings.

For Pakistan, captain Babar Azam scored 76 runs while Fawad Alam and Mohammad Rizwan were unbeaten on 50 and 53 runs respectively.

Sajid Khan was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, taking eight wickets in Bangladesh's first innings and guiding four Bangladeshi players to the pavilion in the second innings.

Pakistan has gained 12 more points in the ICC Test Championship by defeating Bangladesh and its total number of points has increased to 36.

Pakistan had beaten Bangladesh by eight wickets in the first Test played in Chittagong.

Pakistan also became the first team to take 13 wickets on the fifth day of a Test match.

Pakistan had also made a clean sweep against the host team in a series of three Twenty20 matches before the Test matches.
