The 100 American athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics have not been vaccinated

Hours before the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, the medical chief of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee said that 100 of the 613 US athletes who arrived in Tokyo for the Olympics had not been vaccinated against cod.

Jonathan Fenoff, medical director of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committees, said 83 percent of U.S. athletes had been vaccinated by looking at pre-trip healthcare forms.

“83% is a big number and we're very happy with that,” Fenov said.

Nationally, 56.3 percent of Americans have received at least one dose of the vaccine so far, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) estimates that about 85% of the people living in the Olympic Village, which is designed for the Olympic Games, have been vaccinated. These figures are based on information provided by the Olympic Committees of all countries participating in the Olympics, but have not been verified by independent sources.

According to the Associated Press, the report of the American Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) is more solid, as it is based on questionnaires, which American athletes were asked to answer before leaving for Tokyo.

Fenov said the Olympic Committee did not discriminate against athletes on the basis of whether they had been vaccinated or not.

So far, two American athletes … Beach volleyball player Taylor Curb and gymnastics substitute Kara Acre have been diagnosed with the corona virus. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has reported positive cases of corona in 13 out of all Japanese athletes.

The biggest news today is that the Vaccination Committee met with the leadership of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) for an hour on Friday.

The USOPC is currently focusing on the health and well-being of athletes rather than seeking medals.

Since the break-up of the Soviet Union in 1996, the US team has been at the forefront of the race to win medals at the Summer Olympics.

The American players say that they know that they will have to be prepared for any changing situation in the next 17 days of competition and also perform well.
